The initial Building required for LSRK was provided free of cost by Shri Babubhai N. Gajera and Late Bhikhabhai S. Sanepara & thus started the full fledged functioning of LSRK at Sadhana Society, Varachha Road, Surat. The institute was inaugurated by our very own renowed spiritual leader, Swami Shri Sacchidanandaji on 07/07/1996 & is working 24x7x365 till date.

Increasing population, the selfless services rendered by the institute & awareness amongst people led to the need of a bigger space & expansion of work. Hence with the donations of philanthropic people of the area, come into existence a bigger & better “ Shrimati Bhanumatiben Ramniklal Thakkar Bhavan” on 04/04/1999.
The institute was upgraded with newer equipments from donations & fundraisers like “LOK DAYARO” on 04/05/2003. Where industrialists from textile Sector donated huge funds for equipments upgradation which were made available for public service by the auspicious hands of Shri Rameshbhai Oza (Bhagvat Bhagirathi) on 29/09/2004.
In 2006, to mark a decade of successful working of the institute, the following events were conducted:
1) Facilitating blood donors, financial donors & donors of voluntary services.
2) Organizing a 24x7 nonstop week long blood donation camp from 01/07/2006 to 07/07/2006 for creating blood donation awareness.
3) Release of souvenir Smrutigranth depicting the activities of LSRK.
Being the fastest growing city of India, the population of Surat increased many folds in a span of 2 decades. This led to an increased need of the institutes’ services. Hence came into existence the 2nd block of the institute, the foundation stone of which was laid by Shri Sacchidanadji on 22/10/2010 and the inaugural by Shri Rameshbhai Oza(Bhagavat Bhagirathi) on 05/03/2016.
During the shifting ceremony on 04/04/1999 a mega blood donation camp was organized which was inaugurated by renowed film actor of Indian film industry “Mr.Jitendra”. This megacamp set up a record in Limca Book of World Records for collecting 8008 units of blood & created a huge awareness of importance of blood donation.
The institute in collaboration with Surat Diamond Association again organized a mega blood donation camp on 05/03/2005. On this day the institute broke its own record & set up a new world record of collecting 20022 units of blood. During this event, the institute was honored by the presence of the chief minister of Gujarat State(presenting over honorable Prime Minister) Shri Narendra Modiji who himself donated blood. This day become a historical event in blood donation awareness.
In order to create awareness among the general public, a week starting from 1/07/2006 to 7/07/2006 was organized as continuous blood donation week and during that, a souvenir book was published that showed various activities being done at the Institute in the 10 years period.
